Ratchet gladiator computer games
As Ace fakes his death, he tells Ratchet, "Don't let Vox do to you what he did to me. As Ratchet returns to Vox, he is offered a spot as the leader of the Exterminators. Ratchet refuses, calling Vox "stupid" and "greedy.
Ratchet successfully passes the test and returns safely to his holding area. There, he discovers that Clank found a way to deactivate the containment shield holding the other heroes hostage. He is also told that he needs to take a shuttle to destroy the stations central computer, but that it is also a "one-way trip.
Arriving on the station, Ratchet is informed by Gleeman Vox that he wired the entire Battlezone with explosives, and that if he fails everyone there would die. After successfully getting through the obstacles of the station, he manages to deactivate the containment fields and make the escape pods usable again.
But as he is about to escape, Gleeman Vox stops him, and a lengthy battle against Vox and his mech ensues. After Vox is defeated, Al and Clank rescue Ratchet and the contestants just before the station explodes, taking Vox with it. After the credits are over, a small cameo scene involving Dr. Nefarious and his butler Lawrence plays out. They are waiting on an asteroid, floating towards the DreadZone station.
However, it has just blown up, and upon realizing this, Dr. Nefarious throws a childish fit. To completely conquer DreadZone, Ratchet has to battle Exterminators. These are elite gladiators working for Gleeman Vox who kill other heroes. He is first and lowest ranked of the four Exterminator members. His brain was destroyed by a cruise missile during the Obani Moon war, and was replaced with a coffee machine's AI chip.
As a result, Shellshock is immune to pain but not damage and made a great cappuccino. He is basically a robotic version of Arnold Schwarzenegger. He was very large and muscular, had a plethora of weapons, talked with an extremely distinct Austrian accent, and used insults such as "girly men" and "sissies" on almost everybody.
His best friend was Reactor, whom he carpooled with. He has multiple weapons at his disposal. The first are the mortars on his back that he uses to unleash a barrage of missiles at your general direction. The second is his jump attack that sends out a blast wave of energy that you have to jump over. The third and final are what appear to be Bouncers from Going commando embedded into his chest that he can use to fire bouncing mines at you.
Dull "Reactor" Bookworm - This exterminator is a huge robot with a nuclear reactor built into his body, who was once a high school math teacher before he became a DreadZone contestant. Ratchet is barely up to his knees. He apparently dated Courtney Gears and was dumped by her. Because of his formidable strength, Reactor became one of the most dangerous Exterminators at DreadZone and is now the third highest ranked exterminator on DreadZone. He is Shellshock 's friend.
His first weapon is a blaster in his arm. He can blast twoards you and jump attack. He also has flamethrower that leaves burning lines on the ground that hurt you. Eviscerator -The Eviscerator is one of the many illegal robot-alien hybrids. He enjoyed killing and humiliating other heroes, it was likely that he was never much of a hero himself. He has Corbonox armor and razor sharp titanium blades. Not much of his personality is revealed either however, he doesn't seem to be as cocky as the other exterminators but rather calm and smart.
He also called in Slasher mostly known as Tremors enemies. Also, he fired a vibronic ray out of a ball of sonic energy that he formed in his hands, and also fired small missiles. However, reasons lead to suspect that it was at the time of his disappearance that he'd been kidnapped by the Vox empire to become one of the many contestants on Gleeman Vox's show DreadZone.
During his time in the competition he started to enjoy his work and became one of the best at it, topping many leaderboards. He trows grenades that explode into shockwaves. He can become invinsible and heal himself however this only happens 3 times. He can creates copies of himself and all of them shoot you with his blaster. He also has a laser that homes in on you. You can go to different planets to earn medals and earn dread points to advance through the ranks of DreadZone.
All of the planets are at the Shadow Sector of the Solana galaxy. It orbited an unnamed planet surrounded by a number of moons. This space station was enormous. Also, many lanes of traffic, like those on Kerwan, could be seen passing through and across the station. Quotes Dr. Janice : Oh Lance! Lance : Say what? Connections Featured in Jampack Vol.
User reviews 4 Review. Top review. Do not knock this game unless you've tried it. Whenever anyone says Ratchet: Deadlocked is Boring.
I ask them if they have played it and their answer is no. This the normal scenario. People have posted out the wrong idea about this game. Everyone believes that this is a fighting game with no movie play or story. But those people have not played the game. If you have played the game then you must know what I'm talking about. When you start the game you get your choice of difficulty.
If you would like to get through the game quickly and brag to everyone that you complete the game within two days then you can pick the first level. Though if you prefer a more challenging game because you have a lot of free time then pick the last level. You start of small with armour that is not very good but when you win a few battles then you get new armour and enough bolts to buy weapons which I have to say are very impressive.
After the first tournament, the Marauder Tournament which was completed in the game's tutorial level , each tournament required Ratchet to defeat one of the Exterminators before he moved on. As Ratchet moved through the tournaments, his rapidly growing popularity caused concern for both Vox and Ace Hardlight, who were worried that Ratchet would overtake Hardlight in popularity.
Throughout the latter portion of the game, the Vox network attempts to ruin the rapidly-rising love of Ratchet and his bots. Hardlight even went as far as harming Al to anger Ratchet. While Ratchet was fighting in the DreadZone challenges, Clank tried to find to disable the collars and escape.
While attempting to find flaws with the DreadZone Station , he met other heroes, such as Venus , who gave him information to help them escape. After defeating Ace Hardlight, the last of the Exterminators, Vox offered for Ratchet to become one of the new Exterminators, with promises of wild amounts of money and sponsorships.
Ratchet declined angrily, enraging Vox. Ratchet had to fight his way off the station, defeating the ghosts of enemies he had previously killed. To his surprise, Clank had found a way to escape, but first Ratchet had to deal with Vox, who was planning to detonate the entire Station.
After fighting his way to the Arena, he defeated Vox, and was able to save the other contestants and viewers from the explosion. Nefarious gets angry and short-circuits, and a clip from the soap opera "Lance and Janice" plays as the game concludes. After completing Up Your Arsenal , Insomniac tried to deviate from their roots with a grimmer story. Instead, the team began work around a new concept, the idea of Ratchet being kidnapped and forced to participate in a combat sport, and the team aimed for consistent and coherent design and worldbuilding around this idea.
The tonal departure from previous games led to a shift in the art style, and Ratchet's menacing look became polarizing both inside and outside the studio. There are changes seen in earlier footage compared to the final release, such as Merc and Green being shown to have legs they also have legs on the Japanese cover. Prior to releasing the game, Insomniac released promotional material in the form of The Adventures of Captain Starshield prequel webcomic and the News Update reports on their website.
The soundtrack was composed by David Bergeaud. Deadlocked HD was developed by Idol Minds , and features the original game rescaled to p, though there are no new textures or model refinements and graphics match the native texture resolution on PlayStation 2.
Players have noted a few issues with the cinematics, with some full motion video cinematics being improperly rescaled, in-game cinematics sometimes suffering camera and graphical glitches, and inability to turn on subtitles. There are also some framerate and technical glitches reported in the gameplay. The port features PlayStation Network multiplayer functionality, though four player local play is no longer supported and limited to two player local play, and eight player multiplayer limited to six.
Ratchet: Deadlocked received mostly positive reviews, though it was not as well received as the previous three titles and scored lower. The departure from platform gameplay was generally accepted as the action packed gunplay and vehicles as well as the expanded multiplayer were well received, although reviewers noted the game was short and the series formula with its gun gameplay was becoming repetitive due to so many releases in a short space of time.
The gunplay and the weaponry, as well as the two combat bots, were broadly well received. IGN praised the fact that "mindless shooting isn't always the way to win" because "using the right combination of weapons against the right set of enemies in conjunction with the smart utilization of your two robot bodyguards makes a big difference", although they expressed disappointment at weapons from Up Your Arsenal such as the Rift Inducer not returning.
The story of Rachet: Deadlocked sees the titular Lombax thrust into an arena gameshow—where aliens from all over the galaxy fight waves of enemies and each other for acclaim and total domination. With that in mind, Ratchet: Deadlocked focused less on the platforming that made it popular, and dialed up the shooting mechanics and arena type combat. All that being said, Clank had to say goodbye for this game, and was replaced with two AI robots that follow Ratchet around, fighting and helping with various puzzles.
With less weapons, but with ammo limited meaning you have to use each, there is more of an appreciation for every unique weapon the game offers. Not to mention, the shooting and combat is loads of fun and consistently engaging.
Ratchet starts his newest adventure with a standard-issue set of body armor, as well as a Deadlock necklace--if he doesn't garner high ratings on a Running Man-style game show that happens to play like a squad-based shooter , he'll be blown to bits. Why does Ratchet suddenly look like Master Chief?
